In the spring of 1999, I received a phone call from an individual with a missing persons case. I listened closely to the story of the search for Jo Ann Ellis, a 43yr old mother of 18-year-old twin boys.

Over the ensuing years the news was not encouraging, and by early 2003, both of Jo Ann's parents had passed away. It took the family months to get anyone interested enough to help, although a resolution to this case wouldn't come any earlier than it's seemingly pre-destined outcome.

In October of 2003, Jo Ann's car was found submerged in Oklahoma's Grand Lake. An apparent suicide left family, private investigators, and law enforcement scratching their heads for years. This site was born out of this and other similar cases where earlier public exposure might have made a difference.

Our simple goal: to speed up the process using a network of volunteers in the field and the instantaneous nature of the Internet. An updated repository of current Ozarks missing person cases will provide the background information quickly.

With the help of a lot of great people and a little luck, we can make a difference.
